List of Programs & Events
Business Breakfasts – Last Wednesday (Call to Inquire) – The Small Business Council “Business Builders” develop monthly breakfasts filled with networking and great speakers with topics based on the needs of the members. April Business Breakfast Windshield Tour – Call to Inquire – A bus tour, held each January, of the community showing the businesses and individuals developments, expansions, points of interests, etc. so that they make plans for the rest of the year and be “in the know”. Business Showcase – April 25th – This event, in a trade show type atmosphere, provides Chamber members an opportunity to promote their business and network with other community/area business and organization members. List of Vendors Business After Hours – Fourth Tuesday of every month – This is a monthly mixer where businesses and non-profit organizations enjoy networking, food and fun. We bring in a casual speaker with a “Hot Topic”. Rockport-Fulton Night at the Hooks Game – April 18th – This is an annual event where our members caravan toCorpus Christi and literally dominate the night with someone from Rockport-Fulton involved in every aspect of the Corpus Christi Hooks Baseball Game. We have 400-500 people in attendance. Hooks Flyer New Member Orientations – Once Per Quarter (Call to Inquire) – This is a luncheon held for new members. It is held each quarter. The new member receives a complimentary lunch and one hour filled with information about the Chamber and its benefits. Aransas County Day in Austin – February 20 – 21 – This is a two-day event giving members an opportunity to travel toAustin and schedule sessions with Texas Senators and Representatives as well as staffs to discuss the Chamber’s legislative agenda. We also incorporate a student representative from each school into the event. The students are honorary pages for the House and Senate Chambers for the day. Sign up deadline is February 3rd. Ribbon Cuttings, groundbreakings, openings, dedications – Call to Inquire Washington DC Fly-In – May (Call to Inquire) – An opportunity for members to travel to Washington, DC and schedule sessions with US Senators and Representatives as well as staffs to discuss the Chamber’s legislative agenda. Chamber Luncheons – Second Tuesday (Except Summer) – Has an action-packed agenda of “hot topics” and happenings. Five hot products available locally are announced each month. A green tip of the month is announced. Spotlights of the community are featured. Everything is focused on informing our businesses and organizations on current activities and events. May Luncheon Candidate & Issues Forums – Call to Inquire – This is a program, coordinated by the LAC Alumni Program, allowing members to meet and hear candidates as well as participate in impact issues of direct interest to the business community. Annual Banquet – July (Call to Inquire) – This event celebrates the success of the Chamber and its volunteer leadership and contributions. The following annual awards are given: Bay Blazer of the Year, Business Builder of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Chamber Member of the Year, and Citizen of the Year. This event also serves as the annual business meeting of the general membership of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. MBA Challenge – Call to Inquire – A program with a focused-approach named after the Springfield Rifle, where a committee works on attracting the meeting business to the Rockport-Fulton area Sunday through Thursday. Hummer/Bird Celebration – September 12 - 15 – This is an event created to increase the awareness of birding in the Rockport-Fulton area. The event is run by a committee of the Chamber. It involves coordinating a Hummer Home Tour Program, bus, boat and field trips to birding sites, a full program to educate the public on birding and an expo hall for local and out of town vendors. This event puts “heads in beds” during an ordinarily slow-period therefore impacting the economy for our businesses. Sea-A-Bration – October 10 – This event was created to raise funds for a new Visitor Center. To this date it has raised over $100,000. It is run by a committee of the Chamber and is held during an economically slow-period. Seafair – October 11 - 13 – This event is a festival the Chamber took over in the year 2000. It’s net proceeds are between $80,000 and $100,000 annually. It is run by a committee of the Chamber and is held during an economically slow-period. It also provides an opportunity for many businesses and organizations to generate funds by being a vendor. (i.e. boat show, food booths, political party vendors, raffles, kayak demos, cooking demonstrations, bands, sponsorships, etc.) 12 @ 12 Lunch – Call to Inquire – Chairman of the Board meets with 12 members over lunch. Good discussion and feedback from members. Tech Tuesdays – Third Tuesday of each month – Bring your lunch and listen as a presenter teaches you some new technical topic. This event is free but space is limited so call to reserve a seat. SBDC Tuesdays – Call to Inquire – A representative will be available to assist businesses and conduct workshops during the lunch hour. Lunch & Learn Series - Each first Tuesday of the month is a new Small Business topic. Members $10 per person (includes brown bag lunch). Call to reserve your seat today.-April Lunch and Learn
